Seven Apps To Make Your Design And Renovation Projects Easier

Make your projects easier with these apps.Wayfair

Whether you are renovating an entire room, looking to repaint, redecorating or simply in search of the perfect sofa, a minor change can become a major project. But, it doesn’t need to be. Here are seven apps for your Smartphone (and two that are web only) which can make these projects much easier. If you want to save time, money or simply do things in the most efficient way possible, these apps are true game changers.

Havenly

Sometimes you want the eye and help of an interior designer but time, your location or budget will not allow for it. That’s where Havenly comes in. You can use the services of an interior designer entirely through Havenly’s app and website for far less than the cost of hiring someone to help you in person. There are different packages available costing from $19-$179. Havenly’s designers can help with everything from refreshing a bedroom to a true renovation project that involves construction.

Not sure if Havenly is for you? Just ask Keltie Knight of Lady Gang and Entertainment Tonight who used Havenly to renovate her bedroom. She was incredibly happy with the results.

Modsy

Modsy is a website that’s perfect for people who need visuals and want to work with a designer for less. There are a variety of packages and price plans starting at $69 for the most basic to $359 for multiple rooms. Users share budget, measurements, etc, then upload photos of the room from different angles and take a style quiz. Then the designer comes back with beautiful 3-D renderings of what the room would look like with various pieces from Modsy’s 100+ partner sites which includes favorites like Pottery Barn, CB2 and Anthropologie.

Users can modify the renderings until everything is perfect. Want to switch out a lamp, sofa or rug? No problem. The technology allows for unlimited swaps of specific pieces. Products can then be purchased from multiple retailers through the Modsy platform with just one cart.

Home Depot

The Home Depot app is more than a traditional shopping app. It takes convenience to the next level by giving local pricing, item availability and even information about upcoming workshops. But perhaps the best thing about this app is that it tracks the exact place an item is located in the store down to the aisle and bay. This feature can save minutes (if not hours) of time waiting for and interacting with sales associates. Every single shopping app should really have this feature. It also gives Home Depot an edge over the competition.

Wayfair

Wayfair is one of the best websites to shop for pretty much any item you need for the home from furniture, to fixtures, accessories and even appliances. But the Wayfair app takes it a step further. In addition to shopping, there is a unique feature that allows you to view the items you are thinking of buying in the room you plan to use them in. The item can even be scaled, rotated and moved around the rendering.

The app also allows you use Wayfair’s interior design services, track deliveries in real time on the day of delivery, as well as use Apple and Google pay for purchases.

LikeToKnowIt

LikeToKnowIt isn’t a traditional design app, but it’s incredibly helpful for people who are looking for design inspiration on Instagram. This app allows you to screenshot posts that have enabled LikeToKnowIt and receive an itemized list of links to those products. It can save a lot of time searching and help you discover the products and brands that your favorite influencers are posting about.

Benjamin Moore Color Capture

The Color Capture app matches a photo of anything to find a corresponding Benjamin Moore paint color or colors. This can be endlessly useful for those who need to find an exact shade of paint. The app also has a feature to create lists of favorite colors and categorize them.

Colors can also be searched for by collection including Historical Colors, Designer Classics and the Off White Collection. Paints are grouped by color as well.

This is in addition to extensive information about each type of Benjamin Moore product including interior and exterior paints, stains, primers, etc.

ArtSugar Build Your Wall

ArtSugar’s Build Your Wall feature can help design a wall by previewing up to four pieces of art. All you have to do is upload a photo of the wall and then choose the pieces you’re looking to buy. You can even specify the size and frame color. This makes it incredibly easy to visualize how art will look with your furniture, wallpaper or paint color.
